Japanese Restaurant SENBAZURU serves beautifully presented traditional kaiseki ryori - Japanese cuisine set-meals served in a relaxing Japanese style restaurant space on the 2nd Floor. A number of private banquet rooms are also available. Enjoy a fine selection of tempting local Niigata sake to compliment your meal.

  • There is no a la carte menu. Japanese style kaiseki ryori is served

  • There are also six banquet rooms with tatami mats for between 8 and 30 guests; they are available for between 8,000 yen and 16,700 yen for two hours. Please ask for details

  • Reservations for the Tsuki course are required at least five days in advance

  • Guests are welcome to wear the yukata dressing gowns in Senbazuru

  • Over the New Year period (dinner on 30th December until 2nd January), rates will be different - please ask for details

What is Kaiseki cuisine?

In the present day, kaiseki is a type of artform that balances the taste, texture, appearance,and colors of food. To this end, only fresh seasonalingredients are used and are prepared in ways thataim to enhance their flavor. Local ingredients areoften included as well. Finished dishes arecarefully presented on plates that are chosen toenhance both the appearance and the seasonal themeof the meal. Dishes are beautifully arranged andgarnished, often with real leaves and flowers, aswell as edible garnishes designed to resemblenatural plants and animals.
